We're pleased to announce that we have successfully defended, through our Port of Discovery program, our maintenance jurisdiction in the Master Contract. We have used "technology" for the benefit of our membership.

Arbitrator John E. Sands issued his Consent Award on April 16, 2008 and upheld our rights as have been contractually agreed to under Article IX of the Master Contract for over 20 years. The importance of this award is that it not only protects our jurisdiction, and jobs, but has resulted in increased membership, as well as increased jobs, for our maintenance Locals' in the Port of New York & New Jersey.
